The Bulletin du Centre de recherche du château de Versailles is a peer-reviewed free-access online journal edited by the Centre de recherche du château de Versailles (CRCV), devoted to the publication of articles and studies on court societies in Europe during the modern era, especially in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The Bulletin welcomes papers from young and senior researchers in all languages and disciplines (history, art history, museology, literature, economics, philosophy, politics, sociology…) and from all institutions, on the following subjects:
– models of exercising power;
– the structure and functioning of curial institutions;
– habits and mentalities;
– the circulation of men and ideas;
– the representation of power (portraits, court scenes…);
– palaces (architecture and urbanism, décor and furniture, collections…);
– gardens (layout, botany, hydraulics…);
– ceremonies, festivities and celebrations.
The Bulletin publishes original in-depth studies, academic graduate and postgraduate works (from master and doctorate students), texts devoted to questions of research methods, translation or reedition of articles with a critical apparatus, comments and analysis of historical and iconographic documents (archives, manuscripts, maps and plans, engravings, works of art…). It also publishes articles, studies and documents deriving from activities undertaken by the Centre de recherche du château de Versailles (symposiums and workshops, multiannual research programmes, seminars and professional training sessions…).
Each article proposed for publication to the Bulletin du Centre de recherche du château de Versailles is sent to the editorial committee of the Centre de recherche du château de Versailles and refereed anonymously by two academic specialists.

Once the article is accepted for publication, the author signs a contract allowing the Bulletin to reproduce and distribute, ex gratia, the article on its website. The author warrants by this contract that his article is original and unpublished elsewhere, except for excerpts taken from other works or illustrations for which the reproduction rights were obtained. The author also confirms that the text does not violate any copyright or the rights of any person, and does not contain any scandalous, defamatory or confidential material that could violate the law.
Each text published on the Bulletin obtains a permanent Web address (url) serving as the unique and lasting reference for citing in scientific works.
As a member of the web platform for journals and book collections in the humanities and social sciences Revues.org, the Bulletin du CRCV is referenced by the main scientific search engines such as Google Scholar, Base, Ojose, OAIster or Scirus. It is also listed by the general bibliographic databases (SUDOC, Worldcat ou EZB), major publishers of databases for libraries (in Europe, the United States, etc.), directories of specialized links (Intute or Directory of Open Access Journals) and subject or thematic databases (ABC Clio for history).
